Carolina Miranda is the Founder and CEO of Cultivating Capital, a Certified B Corp since 2012 that works with small businesses to implement sustainable business practices. As a Green Business, Sustainability, and B Corp Consultant, she has worked with hundreds of organizations to implement social and environmental initiatives, get certified, and establish 5-year sustainability action plans. She specializes in helping small businesses align their business with their values by implementing best practices for social and environmental responsibility and is actively involved with the B Corp Women CEOs group.
Carolina holds an MBA in Sustainable Enterprise that combines fundamental business skills with a deep understanding of sustainable business practices. After completing her MBA, she served as Associate Director of the Institute for Environmental Entrepreneurship, working on triple-bottom line research and development. Prior to starting her own business, she had hands-on experience in developing a sustainability program and working on sustainability certifications as a Sustainability and Marketing Manager, certifying her first B Corp in 2009.
Citlalic Gonzalez is a researcher and consultant with 20+ years of experience in the fields of Ecological and Environmental Economics and with a robust knowledge of corporate sustainability standards.
She served at B Lab, the nonprofit that administers the B Corp certification, on the Standards Management team for the past two years. As a Senior Standards Management Analyst, she was deeply involved in the development and launch of the most recent version of the B Impact Assessment (BIA), version 6, which launched in January 2019. Her mission was to make the BIA more global and more inclusive of other realities and challenges that businesses face. She designed and set a process to review and classify feedback from users that informed the developments of the first drafts of version 6 of the BIA. She also conducted the first mapping and gap analysis of the BIA standards against the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Citlalic holds a PhD in Ecological Economics and a Msc. in Environmental Economics and as part of her continuous education, she has taken several courses on social impact measurement. She has been fortunate to live, study, and work in several countries.
Kelsey Moody is a passionate creator of community and a proponent of using business as a force for good. Their background is focused on working in business development, strategy, and sales for small businesses in a variety of industries including manufacturing, tourism and coffee. The moment they learned about B Corp certification, they instantly connected to the movement. Kelsey found their first role at a B Corp in 2016 where they also served as the company’s leader of their sustainability and values teams to engage colleagues around various initiatives and company values.
As the Events Chair on the B Local PDX (Portland) Board, Kelsey plans year round events focused on learning and engagement with the B Corp community in the Portland area. They have participated in and led a wide range of projects such as US: A Collection of Immigration Stories, Building the B Ecosystem, an interactive art installation for BLD PNW 2019 called the Mapping the B Ecosystem, and the first annual B Corp Day of Service in Portland. Through these efforts, they have developed many meaningful connections and a deep sense of community.
Kelsey holds a B.S. in Environmental Studies with a minor in Planning, Public Policy and Management from the University of Oregon.
