We asked Alex Wagner, Director of Strategic Initiatives, to share what the experience of going through certification was like for their company.
Why was B Corp certification important for you?
It was important for us to join other companies in setting a higher standard for how a company can run as an organization and how we work to benefit the communities around us.
What did you learn from the certification process?
We learned about all of the numerous ways we can work to further meaningful outcomes for the communities we engage with, and what to be cognizant of to ensure that we hold ourselves accountable to uphold B Corp practices every day.
How did your company change through the certification process?
The process helped us formalize our purpose and passion, putting to paper the entirety of our vision.
In your own words, what does it mean to be a B Corp?
To be a B Corp is to be part of a larger movement of organizations working for the betterment of others and our planet.
