Janelle Osteen (she/her) is committed to supporting the B Corp movement, bringing a sustainable future closer every day. As the Operations Assistant with Cultivating Capital, she loves connecting with others that are passionate about building mindful and green business practices. She first discovered this community through working with the Alameda County Green Business Program, supporting businesses seeking to conserve energy and water, reduce waste, prevent pollution and reduce their carbon footprint.
As an undergraduate at UC Berkeley, Janelle gained experience in sustainable tiny house design and construction as a team member of THIMBY (Tiny House in my Backyard), a student-run organization. In a small but mighty team, they worked to transform a former transit bus into a fully-equipped tiny house for a family in need. Since graduating in 2019, Janelle has worked with a local government agency in the Bay Area to implement waste diversion programs in over 12 schools. She continues to believe in the power of our collective action to bring positive change to our communities and environment.
Janelle holds a B.S. in Molecular Environmental Biology.
